Killdear a study of a bird

Killdeer readily accepts various habitats. Killdeer considers his daily visits to sand beaches, mudflats, and even lawns and golf courses. Due to its small size and habitat, it is not likely it earned its name because it is a deer killer. Quite the opposite, it got its unique name after its high-pitched wailing call sounding like "kill-deer." This picture was taken on Wreck Beach in Vancouver, BC using Sigma telephoto lens 70-300 mm mounted on Nikon D5100.
